"REACH is missing out on nano!"

The nanosphere-affiliated researchers Martin Hassellöv, Thomas Backhaus and Sverker Molander have their doubts about EU's new chemicals legislation REACH.
"Its demands for information about the substance and production volume misses many nanomaterials produced in small quantities", they write in an article in the Swedish magazine Miljöforskning.

The researchers believe that there is currently no fundamental understanding of the absorption, distribution, elimination, and dynamic interactions of nanoparticles on a number of potentially exposed organisms.
