Nanoparticle synthesis and characterization

One of the NanoSphere concepts is to build up a library of nanoparticles with relevant physic-chemical structure variations to provide a foundation for generating structure-activity relation type knowledge. Find out more

It has been identified that most of the state-of-the-art nanomaterial analysis methods are not suited for or optimized to complex environmental samples. Therefore there is a joint project within Nanosphere to develop further some promising analytical methods, for example certain types of electron microscopy. Find out more

Ecotoxicology of nanoparticles to algae, bacteria and biofilms

Bacteria and algae occur together in ecological communities as so-called periphyton - biofilms composed of tens to hundreds of species of algae, bacteria and grazing organisms that establish themselves on submerged solid surfaces such as sediments, stones and reeds. Find out more
